The Parish Pastoral Council (the “Council”) is a consultative body which advises the Pastor on all aspects of parish life, makes recommendations to him, and provides communication from and to members of the parish. Financial matters are the responsibility of the Parish Finance Council, but the Council receives regular reports on the financial condition of the parish and has the opportunity to make recommendations and consult with the Pastor. Members of the Council sometimes form or coordinate various committees for particular purposes which can be composed only of members of the Council, or which may be facilitated by members with the participation of non-member parishioners. An example of one such committee would be the Parish Stewardship Council which has been organized from the general membership of the Council. The members of the Council are appointed by the Pastor after having volunteered to serve, or having been invited by other members of the Council. Members serve for three years, renewable. Officers are chosen from the membership. |
